A few decades old, ‘Neue Plak’ was designed first in 1928, but remains relevant still today. In fact, it is a hidden gem in the typeface family that designers use regularly, but not a lot of people know about. It was inspired by Paul Renner Plak, the creator of Futura, although it never reached the same height of popularity.
Inspired by Futura, ‘Plak’ was revitalized by typeface designers Linda Hintz and Toshi Omagari, who transformed 3 of the existing weights into a collection. Later, Renner added 60 variations to ‘Plak’ and created the ‘Neue Plak’.
