Goodfellas was released in 1990 by Warner Bros Pictures and directed by Martin Scorsese and the film ranked high on the list of all time grossing films set by IMDb and Total Movie magazines. Goodfellas also makes an appearance on both these lists which is only right as it is a gangster movie and a crime movie at the same time! Godfather was followed by Goodfellas as the second greatest Gangster Movie as voted for by the American Film Institute. According to Nicholas Pilgie’s autobiography Wise Guy, the movie Goodfellas covers the life of a former criminal named Henry Hill and the FBI agents who worked with him.
Scorsese has a very significant part in the making of “Goodfellas” as he also depict their amusing side while at the same time making fun of them; as a result Scorsese gives life to an incredibly realistic yet very much fictional portrayal of mobsters.
