The Essonnes font family relates the letters to an old world style with its modern sophistication of a classic serif. While Essonnes is a macro design sandboxing one grotesk and one serif design into 16 Nine types, three Optical sizes, and all masters in both variations available, the goal was clear, to show the universality of Didot fonts for more than just display or headline use.
In contrast with previous typefaces dedicated to research or contrast studies the anew born Essonnes equip ups with display and text weights suitable for the designers’ demands which are still endemic to the optical traditions.
