Comic Sans MS (commonly referred to simply as Comic Sans) was designed by Vincent Connare for Microsoft Corporation in 1994 and released into use the following year. Inspired by comic book letters, its design makes it suitable for casual documents and materials aimed at children. Since Windows 95, Comic Sans typeface has been included as an optional font within Windows Plus Pack and then Microsoft Comic Chat.
