Bentley is a British car maker company, which is engaged in the production of luxury cars and is a subsidiary of Volkswagen group of companies since 1998. Established on 18 January 1919 by Walter Owen Bentley, it has since won six first prizes at Le Mans Motor Show: 1924 1929 1927 1927 1928 1929 1930 and in 1931 Rolls-Royce Limited bought Bentley Automobile Company and stopped manufacturing two years after selling Bentley’s main facility. Since 1933 the name Bentley has not been used in the Sport-Silent Rolls-Royce model and since 1945, when the factory was opened the automobiles manufactured were sold under the brand name of Rolls-Royce Bentley until they were bought by Volkswagen group in the end of 1998.
