Accenture is a consulting firm that has been operational since 1989, and it is a public company. But the company was born much earlier, as it was a division of the auditing company Arthur Andersen since 1953, which specialized in financial and technical consulting. The company was then spun off and became a stand alone entity. It is based in Dublin, Ireland, and has its operations in about 120 countries of the world today.
