Paragon Font is a contemporary-styled vintage serif that was created in 1935 by Chauncey H. Griffith for Linotype. The Paragon font’s characters were intended for newspaper printing at smaller sizes while remaining legible even under low quality printing conditions, while its lighter weight offset over-dosing during newspaper printing processes. Inspired by Phil Baines’ You Can Read Me type research project and intended not be read by machines (OCR), but only read by humans reading shorter texts as its primary target market.
