Sonny Gothic Font Family

Sonny Gothic is our most rational-geometric type family at the moment. It was influenced by the geometric design of the 70’s especially Herb L.Lubalin where logos and typefaces became iconic logo design of our school years. Studying Lubalin’s logos and typefaces in school, we designed purely geometric typefaces with modern capital heights and then combined these new capital heights with the classic capital ligatures of the 70s to know that Sonny Gothic was ready for the takeoff. Chile may not be the birthplace of modern visual culture but geometric typefaces and Lubalin’s work are some of the most striking elements of creativity and for this reason, we salute him here in Chile.

This post is dedicated to him! Designed with opentype functionality each weight contains special characters, ligatures, fractions, numeral sets, arrows, linguistic support and more.
