During 2005 Friedrich Althausen introduced Vollkorn Serif Font as his first design which he published under Creative Commons license while achieving thousands of downloads for its combination of print and web applications. The form was intended specifically for ordinary text uses – a distinction from classic Renaissance period shapes known for their strong serifs which usually control most text arrangements.
The font handles body text functions alongside headings and titling needs successfully.
