Aoife is an educator and designer of typefaces. She holds degrees in Visual Communications from Dublin Institute of Technology as well as an MA in Typeface Design from University of Reading, in addition to running her freelance business and being an Assistant Professor at Kent State University where she teaches typeface and typography design courses.
Prior to her move to Ohio, Aoife worked on Hoefler and Co.’s Design team in New York where she created Idlewild, Surveyor, Mallory and other typefaces such as BioRhyme; recently working alongside Frere Jones Type to produce Mallory as part of Mallory development process. Mallory marked Aoife’s first published original typeface design!
BioRhyme is an elegant Latin typeface family composed of two widths – normal and extended families – each containing 5 weights designed for use across medium to large sizes.
This font’s handwriting feels relaxed yet open thanks to its soft edges and smooth surfaces, making it easy for reading purposes, although larger than some of my fonts.
